Braileys first hike!

Jordan and I decided to go on a hike up to the wind caves and to take our little Brailey with us. Figured we should get her started early. lol.

It was a beautiful hike, but very difficult for me and Jordan to do since we haven't been working out... especially me cause I've only worked out a little since I got pregnant with her so I was extremely out of shape.

Beginning of our hike.

All three of us heading up! I carried Brailey and Jordan carried the backpack with all the water, the diapers, wipes, milk, frozen packs, blanket, etc.

Brailey loved it the entire time. She just kept staring at everything and trying to suck on the carrier. lol. She loved being held outwards towards everything so she could get a good look of the view.

This is a bunch of baby caterpillars. There were over 5 different nests on the way up and they all had hundreds of them on there.

Brailey and I up in the wind caves. I know I look terrible and flushed, but it was super hot and it was a LONG hike... especially since I carried her up the whole way. The last time I did this hike I wasn't even 20 weeks along while carrying her in my belly... so to go from only a few extra ounces of weight to 13 pounds extra was a big change for me.

The only reason why I love this pic is cause I got her whole face and she just looked so darn cute in that carrier. :D

Jordan holding Brailey up in the windcaves!

One of them with the beautiful view behind them. :)
Lots of people were hiking that day so one of the nice gentlemen took a picture of all of us.

This is my handsome man!

Overall it was a wonderful hike! The scenery was beautiful, the company was amazing, and Brailey loved her first hike. She only got a little fussy at the top cause she was tired and she ended up falling asleep in the carrier on the way back down. I am excited to take her camping cause I know she will love it. Guess it will just be another adventure for us. :)

4 amazing months!

Well Brailey is now just a little over 4 months old! I know I say this a lot, but where has the time gone? It's just flying by!!! I love this little girl more and more and more each and every day.

Braileys Newest Happenings:

  • At 3 months she discovered her hands... and now that she is 4 months she has discovered her feet. She could play with them ALL day. I have even seen her grabbing at them in the middle of the night when she is still asleep. lol
  • She can sit up on her own for about 30 seconds without help... then she will start to go for her feet. If I tickle her back then she will pull herself back up to sitting position. I still have to keep my hands behind her cause sometimes she will fling herself backwards really hard quite suddenly. (Too much strength for one tiny body!)
  • She drools all the time... partly because its normal for her age to have too much spit to swallow and partly because she is still teething. Luckily, the teething doesn't hurt her much anymore.
  • She now sleeps 9.5-10.5 hours each night, but she still ends upside down or sideways by the time I get up in the morning.
  • She is such a squirm worm and moves around like crazy... especially in the morning. I guess she is a morning person cause that is when she is her happiest craziest self. ha ha. It's getting hard to change her diaper anymore just cause she is either kicking her legs, arching her back, turning to her side, or trying to grab the diaper when I am trying to finish putting it on.
  • She still can't figure out what the camera is so she will just stare at it. Its difficult to capture a smile.

  • She is such a talker. Most of the time she likes to screech or squeal. She likes to test her vocal abilities. lol. Its pretty funny to listen to her and she is always giving us a good laugh.

Brailey chatting it up with Daddy. Ignore me. lol.

  • Her doctors appointment got changed til the middle of June. So we currently don't know her stats, but as soon as I find out I will post on it.
  • She tries to put anything and everything in her mouth now, including toys which she has now become fascinated with... especially the rattles and noise makers.
  • She is starting to not like tummy time. Now that she has figured out how to hold her head up just fine she doesn't see the point in being on her tummy anymore. But when she starts to get a little angry she kicks her legs and tries to pull with her hands... so she usually ends up moving a few inches at most. I'm sure it will still be a while before she starts crawling.
  • She LOVES to be outside now. She enjoys all the different colors and things to see. Plus I am sure she loves the warm weather.

She's doing and learning so many different things all at once and its such a wonderful thing to see. I love being able to watch her grow. Being her mom is such a blessing.

Time and Eternity!

Time just keeps on ticking and it sure seems to be going by more quickly then it did before. Brailey is now just over 3 and 1/2 months old and she amazes me everyday. She is learning so quickly and I love that she is growing up and doing new things, but my heart aches for her to stay little. I'm going to miss the tiny stage where she depended on me for everything. She is getting very independent and wanting to do things by herself all too quickly.

Here are some facts about my little chubs at this point.

  • Yesterday we did our own measurements and she weighs 13 pounds now and she is 23 inches long. I love every little roll on her cute chubby little body. :) She really is small, but she looks chunky. lol. I adore it.
  • She likes bath time and being in the warm water. I have to keep my hand right by her at all times cause she squirms herself all the way down and tries to roll into the water. lol.
  • She has been able to successfully hold her head up all on her own for the past month and is still working on sitting up on her own.
  • She still sleeps 8-9 hours a night, which I love. Her bed time isn't until around 10:30-11 because she just absolutely refuses to go to bed sooner. I don't mind though because I don't go to bed until that time anyway so she matches the same amount of hours that I sleep. I wake up every morning to her sleeping on one of her sides. Her left side is her favorite, but lately she has been sleeping on her right side.
  • She loves to suck on her fingers... none specifically. Sometimes she will just shove her entire fist into her mouth.
  • She is already scooting herself (on her back). We put her in the middle of our bed and in no time she had already wiggled her way to the edge so she isn't allowed up there without me or Jordan CONSTANTLY watching her.
  • She likes tummy time and she can roll onto her back most of the time by herself.
  • She loves it when I make certain noises or say certain words. She will laugh when I say "mamamamama" (I am trying to make sure her first word is Mama. ha ha).
  • She loves to look around at things. She is SO interested in everything!
  • She loves to hold onto certain objects and its usually random things like her shirt or dress, the curtains next to the changing table, my hands, my hair, and her blankets, but for some reason she doesn't really like holding toys. She will grab them and then she will just let them go, but with anything else she doesn't like letting go.
  • Everywhere we go there is someone saying just how cute and gorgeous looking she is. And even though I am very bias I have to agree that she is!
  • She has the cutest personality so far. She loves to smile and she is "talking" all the time. If I am having a conversation with Jordan about our work day or something going on she will just want to join in and she will just start going off. That and her smile literally make my day.
  • I am pretty sure she has been teething lately because instead of sucking on her hands she has been chomping on them (even after eating a full meal) and she had a few bad nights. Luckily, I got some great advice and I went and bought these teething tablets and they are AMAZING. 100% Natural and they made her so much more happy.
  • She loves her daycare provider, Sue, and the kids there. One little boy who is only about a year old is SO protective of her. If any other kids try to go to her he will go stand in front of her and block them from getting to her and most of these kids are 2-4 years old. He also likes to try and give her kisses. So we call him her "boyfriend" ha ha ha. Its super cute.
  • She used to not like being outside in the sunshine because the light was too bright for her eyes (that included being in the shade), but she seems to like it a lot more now. She likes being outside to look at everything... so long as the sun isn't hurting her eyes.

  • She loves to watch her Disney movies. If I need to go and do something or grab something to eat I will just put her in her bouncy chair in front of her little tv and turn on a disney movie. She loves the ones that sing the best. When these movies are on, I will occasionally go in and sing the songs that are playing to her and she will turn her head to me and just beam a smile once she hears me singing (I have a TERRIBLE voice) so it makes me happy that she loves to hear me sing to her.
  • She is such an easy going baby. She doesn't cry a lot unless she is starving or tired. She usually gives you cues to let you know when she is hungry or sleepy (if I miss these cues then she starts to cry). And she only cries a little bit to let you know she is wet or poopy. I usually know something is really wrong (upset tummy, teething, acid reflux reaction, etc) because she won't stop crying after I have done everything to calm her down. Other parents that go to pick up their kids at the daycare always comment on how she is such a good baby. She really is. And I would know cause I used to work at a daycare. Lots of babies cry just to cry or scream for no reason.
  • She HATES having her nose cleaned out... but I can't say I blame her for it cause it probably hurts. And I really try to be gentle, but its hard to do.
  • She loves going on walks. She enjoys the movement. And she still loves car rides.
  • She likes to watch our dogs moving around. I always grab her hand and have her pet them and she is really interested in their hair.
  • She loves to give kisses back. Her kisses are a wide open mouth with eyes closed. It makes me laugh because its kind of a slobbery kiss, but that's her way of knowing how to do it. I love giving her kisses, but I especially LOVE getting kisses from her. She's such a love bug.
  • She likes to stand up. I put her on my belly all the time to stand up and she just loves being able to look down and see me. She also likes this walker that we put her in. She is still kinda small for it, but when I put a blanket in it to fit her better she enjoys being in it.
And
  • She loves playing with her daddy. He is such a teaser. :) He loves her so very much and its fun to see him play with her and talk to her. She likes to give him lots of smiles.

She makes every day special for me! I will love her forever. Time may be going by fast, but I get to be with her and my wonderful husband for eternity. I am grateful every day that I have them in my life and that I have this wonderful chance to be her mommy. I am also grateful that I only have to work part time. I wish I could be home with her all the time, but my hours could be worse. Many moms still have to work full time in this economy. All in all, I don't mind because it gives her a chance to be around other kids and I really like Sue (the daycare provider). She takes great care of my little munchkin and she absolutely loves her and so does her mom and her assistant.

I am one very lucky mommy and wife. I have such a wonderful little family. I have a beautiful, healthy daughter, a hardworking and loving husband, and a job that helps us get by and works around my schedule for my daughter and the daycare. I am very blessed!

What a Blessing!

Braileys Blessing day went great! Jordan did a great job and spoke not only from his heart but from Heavenly Inspiration. Our little Brailey is such a blessing in our lives. She's such a sweet girl and everyone that meets her agrees. She's my little bit of heaven on this earth because she not only just barely came from there, but she is the innocence this world is starting to lack on. I believe all babies are that tiny bit of heaven. :) Tiny spirits from our Heavenly Father that haven't yet been tarnished by the sins of the world.
I love my little girl and my husband so very much! I honestly feel like I could never deserve them no matter how hard I try.
Oh and GREAT NEWS! Brailey is now sleeping up to 9 hours at night, which is a new record! The first night she slept 8 hours and it scared the crap out of me cause I woke up and I realized how long it had been and I was scared that maybe she just stopped breathing...she had only ever slept up to 7 at the very most, so I quickly looked at my t.v. monitor and watched her for a minute and finally saw her move. It still scares me, but I will just wake up, watch the monitor for a few minutes and usually she moves her arm or hand or head.
AND she is starting to learn to roll over... not completely, but she has made it to her side on her own. This scared the crap out of me too because she did it at night in her sleep and from the angle of my camera monitor it looked like her face was smashed in the mattress. Again, another reason why I thought she wasn't breathing. I hurried into her room and checked on her and really it was just turned to the side (along with her body). Now every night I wake up and she is on one of her sides. She begins sleeping on her back, but ends up on her side. lol. My guess is that she will learn to roll even farther over soon.
(Sorry, had to be the bragging mother for a minute lol)
Alright now for pictures :)

Overall it was a wonderful day spent with amazing family members. And I am proud of myself for getting up and sharing my testimony because I have major stage fright. I don't do well when I speak in front of big groups unless it has been rehearsed. But I felt the Spirit and I was prompted to bare my testimony of the gospel and of my love for my family and Savior. :)
I am truly blessed in my life!
